Advice would greatly appreciated but please be gentle. I'm a sensitive deerkitty o.o I bruise easily lol.
Thanks everyone!
( let me know if these pics don't work. First time using this thing. )
So I was working on this otter partial a while ago and never got a good chance to finish his hand paws.
Now that I've gotten to them I've ran into whats turned into a pretty puzzling question. How do you put webbing between the fingers?
I've tried a couple time to hand sew it in after the hand was sewn up, and once actually had the webbing on the inside. ((I don't know why I even thought that would work.))
I'm thinking of doing the webbing fleece unless anyone has another good suggestion.

Has anyone attempted to sculpt foam remotely this smooth for their heads? (via the pictures in the above link)
Would it be necessary to try and carve this crazy smooth for a head in general?
Or any other part of a fursuit?
Also- tool wise, for trying to smooth out parts on foam (not super smooth, but smooth enough to one's personal desire), what has worked for you so far?
I've heard the majority being electric knives and later scissors for smaller stuff- any specific brands that really stand out or have worked really well for you? Or perhaps any other tools that one could use to achieve smoother carving? (aside from practice that is)
That's all~ Just wondering.
I'm getting a refund, she's moving on with her life, I'm moving on with mine.
I really did hate having to post about her here as she truely is a nice person and didn't deserve alot of the "flack" she got from a few individuals on the last posting (myself included)
If it's possible I would like to erase the previous journal about it and move on. Is that allowed?

Now, I know the eyes are a slight bit lopsided, but that because they are only sitting right on the foam. It doesn't have a nose yet, and I think the jaw is a little lopsided, but im alright with that.
Anything you see wrong? What do you like about it? Any information will be useful.
Thank you :)

I also would like to ask, would fleece or felt be better for a fur subsitute? Ifrit doesn't have very long fur on his body aside from his head and fur can be very expensive when you can only find good quality fur on rare occasions...
If anyone has any sugestions or tips I'd love to hear please! I've never done a quad before but what I learn from making this one will be used on my 2011 project! Sesshomaru in his demon dog form!

I'm trying to use a bit of funfoam on a suit head. The inside of the ears. Slow process, won't do any major work on it until after FC. But the problem still can be looked at as it'll give me time. The funfoam I've found at Micheal's, Jo-Ann's, Wal*Mart, and K-Mart all have the same issue. They have foot-prints on them, torn in corners, holes in the middle, and trashed. I thought about buying the foam in a pack, but as I only need two sheets ($1 total for the two) it seems stupid to spend $5 or more on a pack of sheets I'm not going to need. And most of the time you get one sheet of each color, rather than one pack of one color. I haven't found one pack of one color.
Is there another store to buy funfoam at? Good foam, that isn't trashed beyond salvaging? I don't have a Hobby Lobby in my state, I'm afraid, or I'd look there. The main problem is that the stores listed above are public "everything" stores, and not serious crafting stores. So kids go in there, rip it up, play with it, and leave it on the floor and no one cares. Is there any place better?

I have seen tons of posts about buying your foam at Joann's. The only problem is, I live in Canada and if we do have them here, there are none close to me.
I have everything to make my suit, but the foam.
In my city I have a fabircland, Michaels and Wal Mart. Fabricland has some upholstery foam, but they only sell 1". I bought some to make feet paws, and it's not very good. It doesn't carve easily, and I have to glue the pieces together to get the size I need.
Where can I get foam? I don't care if I have to order it online.
Thanks.
but yeah. if someone could help that would be great.
ps. please comment only if you are going to tell me something i can use and not something like " eyes arent what makes the fursuit" or "yur nwe at this you wont be able to make those kind of eyes" please dont write that. okay yeah. well.....
ya.

Thanks! :)
I am friends with Ice, the beautiful blue dragon suit that BeastCub made earlier this year, or late last year, I can't remember. But the one that was almost lost forever in the mail.
Three days before Christmas, he asks me to make his boyfriend a plushie of his fursuit, as he's over in Iraq right now and can't be home for Christmas. Said boyfriend returns from visiting his family on the 29th, and I had to do this by that time, before he got home, so the plush would be there waiting on him.
This was my mission. I chose to accept it!

I'd actually LOVE some critique on this. It's far from finished, so there's definitely room for improvement! Redlines are also appreciated.
